YES!! Inexpensive. Charming. Delicious. Sit at Harrison Ford's table if you can. (The actor.) LOL!
They r not answering the phone.... I can't call in an order..
Really good food. I had shredded beef enchiladas very good. Best enchilada sauce I’ve ever had
Large portions. Fast and friendly service. Amazing food! Will come back again!
This place is just amazing just like I remember it ten years ago.
Generally nothing special except for being in Winslow. However the people in this place are amazing!!! Every time I go through it is always the people that make me say, I need to stop here again.
A real hole in the wall Mexican place. Ambiance was a little sketchy. The food was very good especially the special burrito which I would recommend to anyone really hungry. It's huge! Very friendly service!
Sam is one of the best servers in winslow
Excellent food. Nice local place.
Home cooking Mexican food
Small, quaint hometown cafe. Recommended by worker at the meteor crater. Had daily special - two tacos and enchiladas refried beans and rice. Was surprised by waitress who brought over fried bread and a jar of honey after meal! What a wonderful treat. Bathrooms need a little sprucing up however overall was a quaint place and would go back again.
Love the Mexican food here
The food is amazing every. single. time. Those fish tacos. Whoever's idea it was to add fish tacos as their "special" needs a bonus!! They are next level delicious.
Food was fantastic. Service was great. It's a small location, and a little run down. They serve bottled beers and some wine coolers.
Great tasty food, fabulous service
Great food at reasonable prices!! Service has taken a turn for the worse though!
Authentic Mexican food, filled with locals and tourists! Everything we ordered was very good and they served sopapillas with every meal.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We were travelling through the area.
great little diner with amazing southwestern food. found this by mistake while driving old Route 66
Great food. Nice hard working staff.
Amazingly delicious eats! We were heartwarmed to see strangers buying meals for a local kid, and overall kindness from the staff AND dinner guests. We were blessed abundantly.
Great food!! Our waiter was awesome! He modified my order to fit my taste and it was so good! If you roll thru Winslow stop in and get a bite to eat. Harrison Ford did!
Most incredible authentic food! Enjoyed a bowl of menudo!
Excellent food, wonderful service. The cafe is nothing fancy but don't let appearances decieve you. Our server was so helpful, she brought over sauce samples when we had questions about the spice level. When we got our food, it was hot and delicious! The shredded chicken and beef was spiced perfectly. My Navajo taco was very tasty. One person in our party had a burger and fries, which were prepared perfectly. Great restaurant, when I get back to Winslow, Brown Mug Cafe will be on my list of stops.
Just passing through town and decided to give this place a try. We love trying locally owned restaurants. The Brown Mug is awesome! The salsa tasted fresh and made from scratch. We got one red and one green enchilada plate. After living in Mexico I can say this food was legit. The sopapillas for desert were served hot. The service is friendly and fast. We highly recommend this restaurant.
The BEST Mexican restaurant in town hands down. Me my Mom and Sister love this place since we 1st came here. Everytime I try beans or rice elsewhere I compare it Brown Mug. 5 star all day anything else would be uncivilized 😁
My mother and I were traveling through. We wanted something comforting and delicious before our 2 hr drive... unfortunately this place just seemed very dated. The food was NOT 4 star quality, the rice looked like it was scooped out with an ice cream scooper...the beans my mother didn't even eat. Very unclean. The service however was very great! The quality of the food wasnt what I had hoped for in a dive-in restaurant.
Being gracious with one star! Rude servers! Do not notice us while we sat there for 30 minutes! Brown Mug is not the same anymore.
great food here. the Red Cheese enchalidas are to die for. the best.
This restaurant is small and has very limited seating. The seats in every booth were torn and uncomfortable to sit in. The soda machine was out and they offered us a can of soda instead but warned us of the $2 refill charge so we opted for iced tea. We were given complimentary chips and salsa as we looked over the menu. I ordered the taco plate with rice and beans. My beans were swimming in grease as well as my rice after sitting on my plate for a few mins. I lost interest in my meal after the first taco because I was having to remove the excess oil from my plate with napkins. Of what I ate it was good but not good enough to finish what I started. I'm glad we still had chips and salsa left because I didn't want to leave hungry.
Great Navajo taco! It was my first time here visiting and I enjoyed it! Thanks!
passing by, we were in the mood for fry bread and this really hit the spot!
My family has been coming here for years. I've been coming here since as long as I could remember. Staff is good and service is good. Food is outstanding. We always order green special burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. The rice and beans here are very authentic, and I've had a real Mexican lady who is from Mexico City make me rice and beans all the time when I was younger. It tastes just like it. The salsa here is amazing as well. My family always orders salsa to go before heading back to the ranch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants some authentic Mexican food. I want to point out that they do sell American food here but I've actually never had it. I've heard some of my family say it's good and others say it's bad.
This place is awesome!!! I had the sour cream enchiladas and my husband had the special a taco enchilada combo. They were both great. My dish came with these honey doughnut things that I've never had before I offered to share with my husband.... I regret letting him have any I want more right now.
We're from New Mexico and we have found very few places that can match New Mexican cooking. HOWEVER, Brown Mug is the BEST Mexican cuisine we have ever had outside of NM. The tamales were superb, their enchiladas were amazing, and their beans are AWESOME. Did I also mention you get a basket of sopapillas? A BASKET OF SOPAPILLAS. We will be back here every time we travel through the area. Btw, their service was fantastic as well!
Best part about the small town of winslow, plus has great food!
I normally love these mom n pop places, especially in historic areas. Service took quite a while. Food was just ok. Maybe the Mexican food would have been better. It did look incredible compared to ours. Overall though the location definitely had the hometown feel, the locals love it, the girls were sweet.
A Route 66 era restaurant. A favorite of locals with little tourist traffic as it is not in the heart of main street. The refried beans and Spanish rice were delicious. I was expecting more kick out of the green chili enchiladas. The flavor was good but not out of this world. A nice surprise was the sopapillas and honey served with your meal.
Wonderful place. Fond memory of stopping in a rare snowstorm. Sweet people & great food
A Little wait. But, the food was worth the waitReal fried taco shells. Just great! The way they are suppose to be. Yummy.
Mmmmmm😋 lol
It was a wonderful lunch combo very good taste thank you very much
The appearance outside and inside matches up with the rest of Winslow. That said , when we asked where we should eat , several residents directed us to The Brown Mug. Absolutely the best SW Mex food we had on our tour. Taste was that of homemade vs. packaged same old same old.
Nice little local diner! It was very busy, and not much seating. Great service, and the staff was friendly. I ordered a Navajo Taco, which was more than I could eat, I wasn’t disappointed!
Nice little cafe in Winslow a very busy cafe lots of locals eat there and take out they have a good Navajo 🌮 worth the try
This place does live up to all its hype. The first thing I noticed was their salsa - it's as authentic as salsa can get. It's the only salsa I've tasted which has a distinct unfiltered flavor of red peppers. Very different from the usual tomato based salsa you usually find at most Mexican restaurants. And there's the famous table where Harrison Ford dined long ago.I wish they had a more extensive beer collection though. They do carry all the staple Mexican beers though. Very friendly and patient servers - didn't mind explaining what each dish is and were more than willing to accommodate to our party's special requests.
Awesome tacos and enchiladas at this place where the service is great. Well preserved atmosphere and plenty of locals who obviously appreciate the quality and value.
Food was very good n fresh.
Food and waiter is awesome. Thank you
Great atmosphere, little restaurant, great food and service.
Regional home style cooking in a friendly atmosphere. Try the Steak Picado (it can be hot depending on the day's batch of Jalapenos) or play it safe with the fajitas or enchiladas.
Great place to stop when in Winslow. People are amazing!Food is good, atmosphere is Winslow, but the staff are always awesome!
